Sunset Desires

*Items in this post were gifted to me by Femme Luxe Finery. All opinions are my own.

In today's post, I'm going to be talking about 4 different dresses that were all from Femme Luxe Finery. Each dress differs from the other in styles and I'll be comparing the features of each. So let's get straight into it.

Brown Leopard Print One Shoulder Mesh Ruched Mini Dress - Adeline

First up we have my favourite of the four, which is this gorgeous leopard mini dress. It is in the One Shoulder Dresses category and features one lovely mesh sleeve with ruched detailing on the bottom that can be adjusted. This is a really eye-catching dress and is one I knew I needed as soon as I saw it. Size-wise I feel it fits me perfectly. It is very short but I would pair it with some safety shorts which I do most dresses anyway. The print mixed with the fabrics used makes for a really beautiful piece and I can't wait for a reason to wear this dress. Maybe in summer when it gets a bit warmer and I have a night out!

Black Satin Draped Mini Dress - Tatiana

Next up we have this lovely black mini dress, with its satin fabric and it's draped design you are sure to look fabulous wearing this dress. While it's not my usual style, I still really love this piece. The draping on the top can look awkward at times but again that maybe just because it's not what I'd normally instantly go for. It comes in various other colours too including hot pink, lime green, Emerald, Rust and Brown so if LBD's aren't your thing then you have more colour to choose from. Why not check out the website to find more Slinky Mini Dresses?

Black PU High Neck Organza Puff Sleeve Mini Dress - Naya

For the third piece, we have another LBD but this time in the form of this leather bodycon dress with puff sleeves. I'm currently obsessed with puff sleeves and anything leather as well as being a Bodycon Dresses lover so this is the perfect piece for me. It is slightly longer than the others so far so I definitely feel more secure when wearing it although I could have maybe sized down as I felt the fabric was draping slightly too much for my bodycon wearing liking. Overall though I really love this piece and will definitely be wearing it on some nights out in the future.

Grey High Neck Knitted Side Split Jumper Dress - Penelope

And last but certainly not least we have this grey knitted jumper dress. This is a super long dress that will be sure to keep you warm in winter and why not layer a cute coat over it to be even more snug? As this is quite a large oversized piece it may be best to size down if you want it a little bit tighter. I paired it with a belt to bring it in at the waist as it is quite a straight down oversized fit and also to give it more of a glam feel with the diamantes. I couldn't resist. This one also comes in a variety of colours with cream, black and stone available. Want a different knitted dress altogether? Why not check out more of Femme Luxe's Oversized Jumper Dresses?

So which of these 4 dresses was your favourite? Let me know in the comments below and while you are here why not check out more of my fashion-related posts?

Today I'm going to be talking about my Bologna Bucket List of things I'd like to do when I go there. Bologna is the capital and the biggest city of the Emilia-Romagna region and is located in Northern Italy. It is home to the oldest University in the world and is a well-preserved historical centre. There is many a thing to do and see in Bologna.

Go Shopping At La Piazzolla Market

First off I'd love to go shopping at the La Piazzolla Market. The market has been held for hundreds of years and there are over 400 stalls full of items from clothes, shoes, flowers, jewellery and even more. Whenever I travel I always love to attend the local markets to see what the local shopping is like and find a unique piece that I can't find anywhere else. The market is located in the Piazza Dell Agosto that is North of the city centre.

Visit The Leaning Towers Of Bologna

Another thing I'd love to do in Bologna is to go and see the Leaning Towers. They are called Garisenda and Asinelli which are named after two important Italian families. There are numerous towers in Bologna but these are two of the most legendary ones. They stand in the Piazza Di Porta Ravegnana. You can climb the Asinelli Tower to see the amazing landscapes around it too.

 Go On A Food Tour

No bucket list is complete without some food involved, which is why I'm including 'go on a food tour'. I love seeing how famous food is made and this is no exception. With tours available from Emilia Delizia that range from; visiting a parmesan cheese production factory to discovering how balsamic vinegar is traditionally produced and even learning how Mortadella, parma ham and San Daniele's ham are produced. There is a food tour for everyone available.

See The Ancient Roman Road

For the fourth thing on my bucket list, I have to go see the Ancient Roman Road. Bologna was part of the Roman Empire which means you are able to see the ruins of the ancient Roman road along with conserved Roman ruins which are located at the Sala Borsa Library. You can also still see the track marks from ancient Roman Carts.

Visit Bologna National Gallery

Last but certainly not least on my Bologna bucket list is to visit the National Gallery. The gallery is located in the confines of the old university complex and features art from the 13th to the 18th century of the history of Bologna.

Have you been to Bologna? If so, what would you recommend to visit and if not what would you like to see the most? Let me know in the comments below and while you are here why not check out more of my travel-related posts?

A Guide to Multi-Car Insurance

Although many will have heard about multi-car insurance, not everyone will know what it consists of. As with any form of vehicle insurance, it’s important to ensure that the insurance policy is relevant to the needs of the driver.

As the name suggests, multi-car insurance is a policy that allows for up to six vehicles on one policy, although this can vary depending on the insurance company you use.

Cars named on the policy must be registered at the same address, meaning it’s ideal for large families, couples and those that share a house.

Sole owners of several vehicles can also take advantage of multi-car insurance, but all the vehicles need to be registered at the same address.
Photo from Pexels

The Benefits of Multi-Car insurance

There can be a lot of benefits associated with multi-car insurance. One of the most appealing aspects of multi-car insurance is a reduced price.

The use of multi-car insurance can also mean that there is less paperwork to contend with when vehicle insurance needs renewing.

There can even be instances where students studying away from home can still be named on the policy, but this needs to be checked with the insurance company beforehand.

New vehicles can be added to a multi-car policy easily even if the policy is already in place, additional vehicles will be covered for the remainder of the existing policy, and will then be automatically transferred to the renewal policy.

Tips When Looking for Multi-Car Insurance

When looking at any form of insurance, it’s important to carry out some research and do some price comparison. Even though multiple insurance providers offer discounts, this doesn’t mean that they’re the cheapest options available.

Similarly, it’s important to ensure that the level of cover applied to each vehicle is correct. Multi-car insurance allows for comprehensive and third-party fire and theft.

In the past, comprehensive multi-car insurance may have been the most expensive, but nowadays it can be more cost-effective.

The most important aspect of searching for multi-car insurance is that the policy put in place meets the requirements of the household.

Although cheaper monthly payments can seem appealing, not having the correct level of cover could mean that the vehicle ends up costing the owner more in the long-term, so research is key.

Different insurance companies will offer different options to that of others, so it should never be assumed that all insurance policies are the same.

For example, some multi-car insurance policies allow for up to six vehicles, whereas others may be limited to four or five. If the first insurance provider you try can’t offer the level of cover you’re looking for, then it shouldn’t be assumed that this is the case for all providers.

There are plenty of benefits associated with multi-car insurance and for the most part, can be a good fit for those with a large household, but price comparison and research should be carried out before making a commitment.

Do you have multi-car insurance? Let me know in the comments below and while you are here why not check out more of my lifestyle-related content.

Your bridesmaids are going to be an integral part of your wedding day and the wedding preparations leading up to it. They’re going to stand by your side through shopping for your dress, finding the right lingerie, finding the flowers and even sitting up until midnight to help you put together your reception favour bags.

For this reason - and more - your bridesmaids deserve a little respect and pampering. They’re going to have their own lives to live outside of your wedding day. They’re going to be there for you throughout this process, so here are a few ways that you can be there for them, too.

Bride And Bridesmaids

Remember: They Have A Life!
Your bridesmaids are stood alongside you and are thrilled for this honour, but that doesn't mean that they’re going to be able to be there with you at your beck and call. Remember that they have their own schedules, their own jobs and their own kids, so you need to get together once or twice a month and talk through what you need. Only schedule things when everyone can make it - and they should respect that you’re giving them the choice of dates.

Give Them Independence Over Their Dresses
Bridesmaids are often stuffed into the ugliest dresses and forced to stand in them for the day. So, give your bridesmaids a choice of what to wear, and you can ensure that they are comfortable. Of course, if you want them to wear a specific colour, the colour periwinkle is a mixture of light blue and violet and will look beautiful as your theme. Give them shops and websites that they can use to shop online and get it right.

Photo from Pexels

A Little Direction Doesn't Hurt
If you want them to have the last say over their look, you need to only give a little direction to their style choices. So, get them to come up with something and unless it really does stand out in a bad way against your perfect day, say yes. A little direction never hurt anyone either!

Don’t Forget The Pamper Bags
You need to make your girls feel as unique as possible! Pamper boxes with their wedding jewellery, a robe with “Bridesmaid” on the back, some smellies and a card of thanks for their help always go down well to make them feel special.

Personalize the thank you card by making it yourself. You can always download and use these free premium fonts to decorate the card and make it pretty.

Break The Ice
It’s rather possible that your bridesmaids won’t know each other if you are blending groups of friends. So, fix up some ice breakers so that you can get everyone to mingle well together. You want the activities for your hen night to be good fun, and you can only do that if everyone is having fun together.

Your bridesmaids deserve your attention, so give them a pamper and let them know that you are there to help them as much as they are there to support you. Have fun - you are getting married after all, and they are right there with you, cheering you on!

Let me know in the comments below if you have ever been a bridesmaid and if so what was your dress like? also while you are here why not check out more of my lifestyle-related posts?

In today's post, I'm going to be talking about 13 of the biggest interior and home trends for 2020. From the Pantone colour of the year to fun bathroom designs and Japanese influences, it's all here so read on to find out more.

The Return Of Black

First up we have the return of black. Gone are the days where everything has to be bright and white as black is returning and making a huge statement this year. Black walls, furniture, cabinets, countertops and more will make your home look on-trend. Why not pair your black room with grey skirting boards for a gorgeous finish?

Dark Doors

Speaking of black trends in 2020, here come the dark painted doors. Inside or out whatever your preference, dark doors are here to add a high-end look to your home and can give a room a totally different feel from the classic white door.

Fun Bathroom Design

Why not add some fun elements to your bathroom? It could be anything from bright colours to a botanical wall or even a funky mirror. Fun bathroom designs are in this year so go wild (literally)!

Free Standing Tubs

While we are still on the theme of bathrooms, the next 2020 home trend is free-standing tubs. free-standing tubs can give your bathroom a luxurious and spa-like feeling. If you have the space in your bathroom for a free-standing tub then this is definitely a good idea.

Sash Windows

Bring the quintessentially English style to your home with some gorgeous sliding sash windows. The traditional style has been given a modern makeover for 2020 to give a contemporary look and feel as well as being really easy to use.

Photo from Pexels

Classic Blue

In terms of colour, why not go with classic blue? Seen as it is Pantone Colour Of The Year this year, classic blue will be seen everywhere and on everything and can be easily incorporated into your decor in any way you please.

Real Plants

2020 is all about real indoor plants. The more the better. Not only do they look good, it feels good to look after something and keep it alive plus they keep you alive too. Much better than faux plants in my opinion.

Rattan Furniture

Rattan interior decor has been getting bigger and bigger lately with 2020 set to be the biggest year yet. Bring a relaxed, outdoor feel indoors.

Velvet

Use a modern take on velvet furniture to complete your interior dream in 2020. Velvet sofas or beds are the best choice for adding this trend into your home and the brighter the colour the better. With no end of choice for colours, you could go for pink, blue, purple, yellow, grey and more!

Curved Furniture

Curved furniture is everywhere. From sofas to mirrors and even lamps. Curves are here to dominate. After years of boxy modern shapes, the curve is back and ready to take over.

Photo from Pexels

 Floral Wallpaper

Floral wallpaper is back and bigger than ever in 2020. Gone are the old-fashioned floral prints and in are the contemporary prints. Why not go with a floral print that is big, bold and contrasting which will be a real talking point for any visitor you may have. You could even try a plant wallpaper using palms or leaves prints to give your home a tropical feel.

Japanese Inspired

Japanese influences have been popping up everywhere recently. Big retailers have brought out lots of pieces which represent Japan with bird motifs, oriental prints, rich silk textures and more.

 Geometric

Geometric interiors are also going to be huge in 2020. Try adding little pieces into your designs and see how it looks. Just don't go too mad with too much geometric or it will be too overwhelming, as you can get literally anything with a geometric print.

So which of these interior and home trends for 2020 do you like the most and would try? Let me know in the comments below and while you are here why not check out more of my lifestyle-related posts?

*AD - Gifted. Items marked with a star were gifted to me for the purpose of this post.

Here comes my first fashion post of the year and it's in the form of a '3 ways to wear' post. I did a similar thing a few years ago with this 1 Coat, 6 Outfits post but this time I'll be wearing the outfits. The piece I have chosen to wear 3 different ways is from Femme Luxe. The top itself is this gorgeous satin Puff Sleeve Top.

You can find the top here: *Green Satin Puff Sleeve Cuffed Crop Top

The first item I paired it with is these ripped jeans also from Femme Luxe.

I tried to do the jeans and a nice top look and think it really works well for that look. The jeans themselves are very comfortable and fit me perfectly. They are ripped jeans and are in the high waisted mom jean style which is one of my favourites to wear.

*Mid Wash Distressed Ripped Mom Jeans

The second item I paired it with was this amazing lime green faux leather skirt.  It is in this wrap-over style and is a really eye-catching piece. I love the mix of the two shades of green of the outfit and so did everyone else over on my Instagram. This is more of a dressed up night-out style.

The third and final way I styled the top was with these gorgeous, also faux-leather stone shorts. They feature a paper bag waist with a belt which pulls in your waist. They are the perfect length for me and fit me well. I love how high waisted they are and as I mentioned above that is one of my favourite styles to wear.

So which of these 3 ways to style the green top was your favourite? Let me know in the comments below as well as what else I should try wearing several ways and while you are here why not check out some more of my fashion-related content?

It's the beginning of another year which means another wrap-up and goals post. I did a 2018 Wrap Up and 2019 Goals post this time last year and will be referring back to that in this one. I'm glad I did it last year as I look back on it now and realise I forgot about some of the goals I set, so it was interesting to see what my mindset was a year ago.

Number Of Books Read In 2019

Original Goal: 30
Extended Goal: 50
Achieved: 81

I originally set my goal to 30 books as I'd struggled in the previous year to get to my goal of 50 but about a quarter way through the year I was already at 25 so I upped it to 50. Then ended up reading 81 altogether. That is the most books I've ever read in a year and I'm really really happy with this goal. I generally read in the bath, on the bus and sometimes a bit in bed before sleeping. I work in a library so this makes it easy to find and pick up books I'd like to read.

I track all the books I want to read and have read on Goodreads so feel free to add me as a friend over there to keep up-to-date with what I'm reading.

Again, if you would like to see a blog post talking about the individual books I read then please let me know in the comments below.

2020 Goal: 60

I have decided to go a little higher as I think I will be able to do 60.

Blog Pageviews

Goal: 100,000
Achieved: 27,993

Blog views were way down last year which has resulted in nowhere even close to my goal. I had slightly fewer posts than the year before and Pinterest wasn't as good for blog views as it has been in the past which may be what resulted in my lower numbers.

2020 Goal: 30,000

I will keep it low for this year's goal and I will promote my posts hard and try and reach new communities.

Photo from Pexels

Social Media Followers

Instagram Goal: 10,000
January 2019:  9790
Achieved: 10,150

I did it! The last quarter of the year I was trying to be really consistent with my posting and engaging with others and it led to a big increase in my numbers. I found an Instagram style that I like and it has really paid off.

2020 Goal: 11,000

I'm only going to set this goal low and aim for 11,000 as Instagram is a fickle thing and my general growth isn't amazing but if I carry on the way I am, then I feel I can achieve this number by next year.

Twitter Goal: 2500
January 2019: 2150
Achieved: 2267

I didn't quite reach my goal but still feel happy with these numbers. I tweet my blog posts out but don't very often randomly tweet my thoughts so this may be why I haven't grown as much on there.

2020 Goal: 2500

I will keep the same goal and see what happens throughout the year.

Pinterest Goal: 10,000
January 2019: 6600
Achieved: 10,988

Well, I hit my goal! My growth on Pinterest was quite good throughout the year but halted a bit towards the end. I hadn't really done much different on there last year so I might need to change it up a bit for this year.

2020 Goal: 15,000

This might be slightly high but I think it is doable.

Tumblr Goal: 20,000
January 2019: 17,000
Achieved: 20,586

I barely used Tumblr at all last year but still managed to gain a fair few followers on there.

2020 Goal: 25,000

I'm hoping to start using Tumblr again to promote my posts and my pictures so hopefully, I will gain some more followers and generate some page views for my blog too.

Brands I Worked With

Goal: To work with the other 4 brands from my list.
Achieved: No

I worked with 1 of the brands from my top list so although it's not all 4 of them, I am still very happy with that result. I also worked with many more brands last year and want to take that momentum into 2020.

2020 Goal: To work with the other 3 fashion brands as well as to work with 1 travel company/hotel on a review trip.

 Money Earned Through Blogging

Goal: £1000
Achieved: £1161

I am so happy that I hit last years goal! The year before I didn't quite make it so this is awesome. This came from a mix of Sponsored Posts (£281.13), Ads/Links (£39.37), Guest Posts (£553.18) & Affiliate Income (£27.43). I also gained a little extra money from Survey Sites and similar places (£260.79) for which I am including in my blog earnings as it is classed as a self-employed wage.

If you would like to see a blog post detailing all the places I actually earnt money from then please let me know in the comments below.

2020 Goal: £1500

I feel this is very doable with my current momentum.

Did I Achieve My General 2019 Goals?

I am going to start this section by looking back on my general 2019 goals to see if I achieved them before I talk about my general 2020 goals.

- Be more confident with my body and style when selecting outfits
I definitely achieved this as I am now more comfortable wearing outfits I may not have considered the year before and now regularly uploading outfits onto Instagram.

- Get back into my workout routine to get stronger again
This was a complete fail as I did absolutely nothing in terms of extra exercise.

- Visit another place I've never been to abroad
This didn't happen either but I still managed to get away abroad on 2 holidays so still feel happy about this.

- Work with a bigger variety of brands (travel, lifestyle etc)
I have definitely achieved this as I have worked with food/drink brands on posts as well as various others.
- Upload more natural, in the moment photos
I ended up finding the theme I liked on Instagram so I don't quite do this as often but I am okay with this goal not been met.
- Start the process of buying a house
This came to a standstill and I am not currently looking at buying a house but I am still saving up in my ISA every month.
- Keep up the momentum of trying more foods
I am definitely trying lots of new things.
- Attend another blogging event
I actually attended a few so this was definitely met! You can check out what I got up to at the Meadowhall Student Night and a Cocktail Masterclass that I attended for a promo video.

- Write a bunch of blog post drafts ahead of time
This also didn't happen as I still write my posts one by one as I post them.

- Start a YouTube channel (This was a 2018 goal that I didn't manage to achieve)
This KINDA happened. I uploaded 1 ASMR video but didn't start my general YoutTube channel.
- Organise my blog information into more spreadsheets
I partially did this but not quite as much as I wanted.

- Go on a review trip
I didn't quite hit this goal but I did go on a review meal to The Milton Arms and also a review trip to the Theatre to see The Last King Of Scotland so I am including those in this goal.
