Sunset Desires

*AD - This is a sponsored post.
At Lark and Berry, their diamond jewellery is created with cultured diamonds and this post will explore more about what that means.

(+All facts in this post are from the Lark & Berry website)

What are cultured diamonds?

Cultured diamonds are diamonds that have been grown in a lab rather than mined.

 How are they grown?

They mimic the way diamonds are grown under the ground. There are 2 ways to do this, one involves applying immense heat and pressure to carbon and the other way involves applying heat and gases to a diamond slice. Both processes create 100% diamonds.

The benefits of cultured diamonds

  •  Because they are grown in a lab, the diamonds are generally purer because the environment they are grown in can be controlled.
  • They are less expensive by 30-50% as there are only 2 steps to obtain them which is grow and cut.
  • They are more sustainable because they don't require land or wildlife displacement and since they aren't mined, this means that they don't cause any underground water pollution and don't release any chemicals into the ground. They can now be created by 100% renewable energy and are guaranteed conflict-free.
  •  They shine exactly the same! It's more about the colour, cut and clarity that you get and they last just as long as mined diamonds.
The exact same types of jewellery can be made with cultured diamonds, this includes diamond rings, engagement rings, diamond necklaces, diamond stud earrings, diamond bracelets, etc. Lark & Berry do all these and more. Everything they create uses cultured diamonds and their tagline is Clean. Cool. Cultured which describes the brand perfectly. They focus on being ethical and sustainable and that is important to take note when buying diamond jewellery.
All of their engagement rings can be made in 18k gold or platinum with diamonds starting at 0.5 carats to 5 carats. They have some beautiful designs such as the Halo Diamond Solitaire and the Full Diamond Trio which are my two favourite engagement rings that they do.
Lark & Berry also have a collection of stackable rings with colours including emerald, pink sapphire, ruby, blue sapphire, yellow sapphire, light ruby and purple sapphire. So a colour for everyone. My two favourites from this collection are the Veto Open Stackable Ring in Light Ruby and the same in Fancy Purple Sapphire. They can be worn one at a time or all at once and would make greats gifts for your loved ones!
What's even better about Lark & Berry is that every time you make a purchase through their website or in one of their stores they will plant 5 trees as they have partnered with the One Tree Planted organization These trees are planted on 4 continents throughout the world: North America, South America, Africa and Asia. Because of the enormous toll diamond mining has taken on the environment, they want to help the earth by facilitating reforestation and more.

From their cultured diamonds to their gorgeous choice of jewellery and the 5 trees planted with every purchase, what's not to love about Lark & Berry?

Let me know in the comments below if you have ever bought anything from Lark & Berry and what that was OR if you haven't check out their website and tell me your favourite piece.

On Trend: Gold Necklaces Post Banner

AD - This post is sponsored by Nakturnal. All opinions are my own.

Today I'm going to be talking about one of my current obsessions and that's beautiful gold necklaces! It was only 2019 that I started to wear gold rather than just silver and my collection has grown considerably since then, so this post is going to be a wishlist of necklaces I would love to own or pieces that generally inspire me.

I'm going to start with Dylanlex as they are a brand I have been following on Instagram for a while and I always post them as inspo on my stories. They do beautiful, chunky statement pieces and I would love to own one of their necklaces in the future. My current favourite on their website is the AXEL II, a stunning 4 layer piece.

If you are on more of a budget then New Look is a great place to shop. They have a whole section of gold necklaces under £10. My favourite from New Look is the Gold Padlock Pendant Necklace which is only £5.99.

If you are a long-time follower of my blog, then you know my all-time favourite place to buy jewellery is Shop Dixi. While I mostly buy silver jewellery from them they do have a large range of gold pieces too. One gold necklace I would love to get my hands on is the Autumn Moon Boho Necklace.

Another place to get gorgeous gold necklaces is Not On The Highstreet. They are basically a big marketplace filled with many different sellers, so there is plenty of choices available. One of the pieces that stand out to me the most is the double row gold boho crystal necklace by Ashiana London.

One more marketplace type website that is great is Etsy, again another huge place filled with many wonderful sellers and so many different price ranges for any budget. You are bound to find some gold necklaces perfect for your taste. One I would love to own is this beautiful opal, star necklace by the seller HKS Jewellery by Bhavna.

Last but certainly not least is my favourite budget place to shop for gold necklaces and that is Primark. Unfortunately, they do not sell online from their website but if you are based in the UK then you have most likely been in a Primark. They are now expanding more worldwide too. Many of my collection comes from there as I love to layer their pieces and they don't break the bank. If you are passing by I would definitely suggest popping in for a look.

Make your wedding day unforgettable: Celebrity wedding dupes

*This is a paid guest post.

Wedding dupes (replicas of our favourite celebrity wedding items) have surged in popularity in recent years. Whilst a star-studded or royal wedding can look visually impressive, not everyone has the budget to match – but don’t give up hope! Whether you’re planning a quirky ceremony or a glamorous Kardashian-Esque affair, there are wedding dupes out there to suit all budgets and tastes. Angelic Diamonds jewellers have assembled this list of their top five picks:

1.        A diamond sparkle – Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z

Shawn Carter, known in the music industry as Jay-Z, took heed from his partner Beyoncé Knowles hit ‘Single Ladies’ in 2007 when he finally ‘put a ring on it’ — and he certainly chose well! Not every man would feel comfortable heading into the jewellers and finding the perfect engagement ring for their partner, but Jay-Z picked a stunning Lorraine Schwartz 18 carat platinum ring with a price tag of $5 million. If you’re looking to convey the same luxury look for a split shank band, and in terms of style emerald cut, diamond engagement rings are the best bet.

2.         Quirky cake – Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting

Despite having the potential to become a serious hazard — especially if you’ve invited children to your ceremony, there’s no denying that Kayley Cuoco’s wedding cake was a spectacular creation. The tiers were assembled upside down, finished with an extravagant chandelier suspended on top. While most bakers might not want to brave such a daring design, The Butter End Cakery took Kayley’s cake dreams and made them into a reality. Want to give your own wedding cake an a-list makeover? Ask your baker to let their creativity run wild with suspended tiers that can wrap around your wedding cake, adding a unique touch.

3.         Cartier chic – Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

When the royal couple tied the knot back in 2018, The Duchess of Sussex wore the stunning yet simplistic Cartier 18 karat white gold and diamond galanterie stud earrings, and they complemented the timeless elegance of her fitted gown. The earrings were a perfect statement in line with her overall wedding day look, understated and simply ethereal. If you’re still in awe of these beauties, then head to the online retailer Etsy where you’ll find an extraordinarily similar pair for around £17 — a notable saving when compared to the Cartier price tag of $16,500 (£13,500).

4.     A second dress – Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

We’re a nation swept away by royal wedding euphoria, so once again we are looking back to what Meghan wore on her big day — this time, it’s all about her second gown. Meghan changed into an uber-chic halter neck dress designed by Stella McCartney, a fitted floor-length piece fit for the radiant princess. Shortly afterwards, the eCommerce fashion retailer ASOS unveiled a dress that captures the same understated elegance, with a more payday friendly price tag of £120. Surprisingly, the actual dress is available to buy online, a rarity when it comes to garments designed for an event with the gravity of a royal wedding; but if the £3,500 checkout total is over budget, then rest assured that you’ll find some dupes which are outstandingly close to the real deal.

5.     Floral features – Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West

Looking to get your photographs exactly right? A statement backdrop could be the way to go, taking some inspiration from the music mogul Kanye West and businesswoman Kim Kardashian West. The couple marked their first moments of married life by posing in front of a decadent wall of flowers, and the delicate toned blooms added to the ethereal ambience of their special day. While not all of us can stretch our budgets enough to accommodate such aggrandized features, there are a few alternative ways to recreate this, and it will look just as gorgeous in your pictures. Consider adding some flower-lined arches, or look at lining the walls of your venue with some paper flower creations, for a quirkier, less pricy option. Many wedding venues in Cumbria and the Lake District come with a spectacular natural back-drop already, so you could consider holding your wedding in an area of natural beauty to produce similar effects.
If you’ve got your eyes on something that you’ve spotted in a glossy magazine or on your favourite celebrities’ Instagram feed, then it’s worthwhile shopping around because more often than not, you’ll find brilliant wedding dupes!

If you are someone that likes to make lists, especially around the places that you like to travel to, then the modern Wonders of The world is likely to have crossed your mind. Simply put, they are breathtaking, historical, and as the name suggests, wonderful! But seeing them all at the same time might need quite a bit of time off work. So here are a few of the experiences that you could have at each, so you can decide which you’ll plan your trip to first.

Great Pyramid of Giza

One of the oldest things in the world and the only remaining from the original seven wonders of the world are the pyramids of Giza. The pyramids are one of the most magnificent things on the planet, and you really have to wonder, how did they do it? Structurally and architecturally back then, the mind really does boggle. There are many tours that you can book, like Egypt tours 2020, depending on what you want to see and do. But being able to see a tomb for the king of Egypt will be an awe-inspiring experience, and it held the record for thousands of years, as being the tallest building built by human hand, before the Eiffel Tower was completed.

Machu Picchu

If you love to hike and explore the outdoors, then the wonder that is Machu Picchu is a must. It is a really impressive sight, that is one of those things that everyone needs to see and experience at least once in their life. It was a trail built by the Incas, and it is perched on a mountain thousands of metres above sea level. It had been forgotten by the world for a number of years, until the early 1900s when it was rediscovered by the western world and brought it back to attention.

Great Wall of China

You might have heard that you can see the Great Wall of China from space. However, that isn’t completely accurate. Having said that, it still doesn’t take away from the size of the wall, at over 20,000km long, and about two thousand years old as well. It is steep but does have some really breathtaking views, and the history behind the origin of it is fascinating too. It was once used to protect China, but now it is a great way to see some of China’s vast and dramatic landscape.

Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal in India really is a sight to behold, as it is made from white marble, and that alone (not to mention it was built with love as the Emperor at the time built it to honour his late wife, at the time). It took a while to build it, and over 20,000 people to help complete the build. It is a masterpiece and really does need to be added to your bucket list, as it is one of the jewels of India.

Rose City of Petra

There is an ancient city in Jordan that is carved from rocks of Petra, and nowadays, it is a UNESCO world heritage site, meaning that it can be renovated, changed, or added onto. So you really get to see how it was when it was built and see what the carved city looks like. As you wander the streets of it, you will discover a whole host of things, from temples, tombs, and even an amphitheatre, showing its Roman connections. It is a must, as it is seen as one of the most valuable archaeological sites to ever exist, as we have learnt so much from it, and still continue to do so.

Roman Colosseum

The Roman Colosseum tends to be seen as one of the largest amphitheatres that were ever made. The sights and sounds that it must have seen are pretty astonishing, as it was built around two thousand years ago. It is a really striking thing to see in the city, and the remains are beautiful, which is quite contrasted to what must have gone on there all those years ago. Sadly, two-thirds of what was originally there has been destroyed, but there is still plenty enough to see and experience there to get a feel for what it would have been like back then.

Have you ever been to any of these before? It would be great to hear what you think and what you have experienced, and see what other ‘wonders of the world’ that you would add to your list. While you are here, why not check out more of my travel-related posts?
