Private Jets and Coronavirus: How This Type of Travel can Stop the Spread of Covid-19

At the beginning of 2020, no one expected that a few months later we would all be stuck in a lockdown because something called “Covid-19” had taken over the world. If that wasn’t bad enough, no one expected it to last into 2021. But it has. As a result, many people have had to put any plans they had on hold, and that includes their travel schedule.

Airlines had grounded flights. Hotels were cancelling bookings. There wasn’t a way for people to go on vacation. That was until private jets, which can be chartered through companies like Jettly, came into consideration. Before now, private jets may have been used by only a select few, but with this new revelation that they are the perfect choice to consider when flying during a pandemic, everyone wants to get their taste of it.

So how can they allow you to fly during coronavirus, as well as keeping you safe at the same time?

Avoids Airport Crowding

It doesn’t matter where you are travelling from and on what day you are doing it because there will always be hundreds of other people who are there for the ride too. As with most airlines, you are required to check in hours before your flight. This is so you will have enough time to go through security, as well as ensuring that the airline staff has enough time to get all your luggage into the relevant part of the plane. During all this fun and madness, you will find that you are close to strangers.

Pre-covid, you wouldn’t have blinked an eye. But now, you will be more aware of how this virus could affect your health and wellbeing if you don’t social distance. With this factor at the forefront of most people’s minds, the idea of chartering a private jet becomes much more enticing. If you know that you will be getting on a plane just as it’s about to take off, and without having to wait around, you will be less likely to come into contact with other people who are outside your travelling group, thus protecting you from contracting the coronavirus from others.

Increased Health and Safety

When you fly on a commercial airline, you will certainly be coming into contact with surfaces that hundreds of people before you have touched. Whilst the airline staff will have been able to do a quick clean of the plane’s interior, it will never be as clean as it could be. This is especially the case when the plane has a quick turnaround between flights. Again, in the world before covid, you probably wouldn’t have cared as much as you do now. Of course, you will have still made sure that you were coming into contact with clean surfaces, but not to such an extent.

And that is the benefit of flying on a private jet. The plane will be considerably smaller than that of a commercial airline, and the chances of there being more time between flights are increased, as most firms adhere to the schedule of their clients, instead of a pre-drawn list of departure times. Because of this, the airline staff will have more time to complete a thorough deep clean of the plane, and all the things that clients may touch, such as drinks, the air conditioning buttons, and the toilet facilities. If these have been sanitized, which they will have been, the chances of you suffering from coronavirus are greatly reduced. To add, they will also have hand sanitiser and masks available should you need them if you want to be extra careful.

Easier to Social Distance

Airports are busy at the best of times. But now that more people are making the most of lockdown restrictions being lifted, you will find them busier than ever. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially when people have been forced to stay in their homes for months on end. Whilst people will have this eagerness to travel again, it is still important that they adhere to social distancing guidelines that the government has put into place to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Just imagine how hard this would be on a commercial flight. It is near impossible. As a result, people could decide to charter a private jet where the number of people allowed on the plane is incredibly smaller. When you are on a flight with 5 other people, on a plane that fits 14, for example, you can make use of all the space around you, and it can be easier to spread out whilst staying comfortable at the same time too. So, if you wanted to err on the side of caution when it comes to travelling in a post-covid world, you may decide that flying on a private jet is the best option for you. Not only does it stop the spread, but this mode of transportation comes with a heap of other benefits too, so you will be receiving the ultimate experience.
