Whenever someone talks about holidays, they talk about getting on a plane and heading to the far-flung corners of the world. The thing is, you can have just as happy a time when you get behind the wheel of your car and head somewhere on an adventure. There are so many reasons to go on a road trip over getting on a plane, but the biggest reasons always revolve around money and time. Not everyone has the spare time to recover from world travel. It takes hours to get from one end of the world to another, and it takes time to recover, too.

So, if you want to make life easy when it comes to going on a break, a road trip is the best way forward. Sure, there are things such as van and car insurance to consider, but One Sure offers competitive rates and you can check many different prices to see which will work for you. A road trip is going to be the best adventure that you go on this year, and we have six reasons you should choose wheels over wings this time!

It’s cheaper than flying, and that’s the truth! Even with the cost of insurance and petrol, you will still spend less money on a road trip than you would a long-distance flight. This is especially true if you are travelling as a large family. The price of multiple airline tickets really does add up when you are buying more than one seat, and you don't get as many chances to stop and explore!

You get to choose your music. Sure, you can wear headphones on a plane and enjoy your trip, but your music on road trips is the stuff of memories. At the end of the trip, you’ll be able to associate every memory with a brand new song, and it’s so exciting to have the memory hit you when you are doing something else.

There is so much to see. When you are on the road, you are able to stop as many times as you like, go where you want, view attractions and see so many new things. Roadside attractions are far more interesting when you are actually on the road. All you can see out of the plane window is endless sky and clouds. Sure, it’s pretty, but it’s not as fun.

You can save money when you are on the road. Flying adds costs for baggage and souvenirs, and airports are expensive places to be. When you are on the road, you can buy trinkets at local shops for less. You can pack as you like and not worry about baggage fees, too.

When you are on the road, you can be as flexible as you want. If you want to add another night to a hostel or pitch a tent, you can. If you want to stop or detour from your original plan, you can. No one can stop you from being as lazy or as efficient as you like on the road, and it offers so much more flexibility when you get bored!
