The main determinations should be the type of music, what age groups and audience they will ideally appeal to, and what you’ve allotted in your budget for hiring live talent.

Once you’ve established all the parameters for the kind of live entertainment you need, you have a few options for seeking out appropriate acts. You’ll want to make sure that the venue you’ve rented has all the required technical specs that the band needs to perform, and that they’ll have the equipment necessary to make the performance happen. You’ll also want a solid and contractual agreement about the expectations of the event. That is, how long they are to perform for, and the exact amount of payment. Be wary of vagueness when it comes to agreements and never rely on verbal contracts. Have everything ironed out before drawing up the contract.
