AD. The festive season is almost upon us, and now is the time to start thinking about how you are going to decorate your home this year. If you are looking for some ideas, then you are in the right place. Today, I’m going to be looking at festive decor ideas, with the main focus being framed prints from My-picture.co.uk.

Cosy Vibes
First up, we have my favourite and that is cosy vibes. With the winter and colder weather closing in, we want to give our homes that warm, cosy, festive feeling. To achieve this, add touches to your home such as;
- Thick, fluffy blankets and throws draped over the sofa
- Lots of cushions
- The fireplace going (if you don’t own a fireplace then you can achieve a similar effect with LED candles or even real candles)
- Wooden furniture and decor touches
- Gallery walls using framed prints
When it comes to cosy vibes, the colour schemes need warm tones. Warm tones are a staple of the holiday season with greens, reds and browns so opt for these colours. Use warm colour bulbs in the lights on your Christmas tree, turn the big lights off and hang fairy lights up for that extra cosy feel. Use framed prints on your walls with the same colour schemes to match the decor with scenes such as your family around the Christmas tree or autumn scenes with the yellow, brown and orange tones of winter leaves. You can opt for a brown frame rather than a white or black one to give a warmer feel. The choices are endless when it comes to cosy vibes.

Winter Wonderland
If you thinking of a Winter Wonderland theme for your festive decor, you will be looking at brighter, plain colours such as white, and silver to represent the glittering of snow and ice. When it comes to decorating your tree for this theme, you will want lots of baubles that are white, silver and clear glass and have shapes such as stars, icicles or snowflakes shapes. You can add white fairy lights on the tree as well as around the house and use white and silver tinsel. You could even go the extra mile and get some fake snow to line your windowsills.
With the Winter Wonderland theme, you still want warmth in your home so still add touches such as blankets and candles but make them a more neutral colour. For your walls, you want to add prints that feature scenes such as fun snow days and other outdoor Winter scenes and use white or silver frames for this theme too.

Personal Touches
Last but definitely not least we have personal touches. You don’t want your home to be soulless so why make your decor that way? There are a myriad of ways you can add personal touches to your home, especially for a festive theme.
A few of these ideas include;
- Handmade Christmas baubles
- Personalised stockings for each person in the family
- Photo books placed on the coffee table with festive-themed covers
- Gallery walls mixed with festive prints and family photos
