AD – It’s 2022 and the world of interior design has a lot of trends that they think will be big this year. In this post, I’ll be going through my favourite 10 Interior Design Trends for 2022.

Bold Patterns & Colours

A bold pattern or colour can make a room stand out, but it can also be hard to match with other items in the room. This year, that doesn’t matter. It’s all about making the room as bold and fun as you like. Think clashing patterns and colours and fun pieces such as a neon sign from Neon Mama to bring extra joy to your home and your life.

Warm Neutrals

If bold patterns and colours aren’t your things, then you might want to look into warm neutrals which are also making a huge comeback. After the last few years we’ve had we want our homes to feel homey and comforting and that’s exactly what warm neutral tones do.

Natural Materials

Natural materials are in high demand in the design industry at the moment. They have a unique texture and colour that make them aesthetically pleasing. Designers are opting for natural materials because they are more sustainable and eco-friendly which is something that will only increase in the upcoming years, which brings me to my next favourite trend.

Concrete Furniture

Concrete furniture is a popular trend in interior design and is another sustainable choice. It can be used to make tables, chairs, lamps, and other furniture pieces. The concrete is usually cast into moulds or poured into forms. These pieces are then sanded and polished to create the desired look for the piece.

This type of furniture can be very durable because it doesn’t need any wood or metal framing. It also has the potential to be recycled because it is made of concrete which can be broken down and reformed into new pieces of furniture.

Black Accents

Black accents are a great way to add some sophistication and style to any room. It is known as the colour of elegance so it can be used to add a chic feel. Adding a black accent to a neutral room makes a big statement. Think black taps and metalwork in the bathroom or kitchen, a black cushion or coffee table in the living room, a black lamp in the bedroom or even the frames of your internal doors. Little subtleties make a big difference.

Indoor Plants

Indoor plants have been becoming a bigger and bigger trend each year and 2022 is no different as they are an important part of the interior decoration. They can make a room look brighter, cleaner and more inviting. They can also be used in any room in your home.

There are many benefits of having indoor plants in your home or office. Plants add colour and life to your surroundings, they help improve air quality by releasing oxygen, they absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, they reduce stress levels and increase productivity levels, they can improve your mood when you feel stressed or sad and so on.

Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating is another trend that has been gaining traction in the past few years. There is nothing worse than standing on a cold, hard floor in Winter which is where the underfloor heating comes in. It’s a popular choice because it can be installed really easily and doesn’t require major renovations.

The 2 types of underfloor heating are electric and water. It’s advised to do some research to see which would be the best option for your home and yourself.

Round Furniture

The trend of round furniture is gaining popularity and will be big in 2022. The idea behind this is to create a more open and spacious living space. Round furniture can also offer a sense of balance and harmony in the room. Although round furniture is typically pricier than square or rectangle pieces, it’s well worth the investment for its design and functionality. Some people also believe that round furniture is more comfortable to sit on too since it doesn’t have sharp corners or edges.

Luxury Outdoor Spaces

Luxury Outdoor Spaces are an emerging trend in the design world. They offer a new way to enjoy nature without sacrificing any of the luxuries of modern living. Outdoor living spaces are becoming increasingly popular. This is because they offer a way to be closer to nature while having all of the amenities that you would find in your home. You want your outdoor space design to be as comfortable as it is beautiful.

Pantone Colour Of The Year 2022: Very Peri

For the last interior design trend, I have to mention the Pantone Colour of the Year. Very Peri is the colour for 2022 (PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri). This is a shade of blue with purple undertones. Expect to see this shade around a lot this year. If you would like to learn more about the Pantone colour of the year, you can check out the Pantone website.
