AD – PR Invite. Who doesn’t love a good buffet? That’s where COSMO comes in—an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant with 22 locations throughout the UK. We recently visited the Doncaster COSMO location, for which I will be reviewing my experience in this post. So, read on to find out what I thought.

Initial Thoughts
I’ve been to COSMO many times before, so I knew what to expect going in, and it didn’t disappoint. I always enjoy my time at COSMO as buffets are my favourite type of meal to go out for. The Doncaster store now has a special place in my heart too, as it’s the first place I went to when I started dating my boyfriend, so we kind of had a recreation of our first meeting. Cute, I know!
We booked into one of the latest slots before closing, so it was nice and quiet – the COSMO locations tend to be quite big and do get quite busy, so it’s best to book to avoid disappointment.
So, let’s get onto the first part of the night – The Drinks!

The Drinks at COSMO
Whenever I go out anywhere to eat, I always check the cocktail menu first. I always scan to see if they have my favourite cocktail (Amaretto Sour) on the menu, and if they do, I will choose it 90% of the time. COSMO did in fact have it on the menu, so that’s what I went with, and my partner chose a classic fruit cider. The cocktail itself was lovely, but a little less sour than I usually like. Still, I very much enjoyed it. I only stuck with 1 as it was a weekday night, and I didn’t want to overdo it.
They have a range of other cocktails and drinks available from Passionfruit Martinis to Long Island Iced Teas and spirits including vodkas, whiskeys and more. If it had been a weekend, I would have given some of the other cocktails a go, maybe next time!

The Food
Now for the main attraction, the food! They have buffet food available from all over the world to choose from, including World of Asia, Tepanyaki, House of Spice, Continental, Tasting Kitchen, Carvery Buffet, Deli and of course a selection of desserts. You can find more about the menu on their website.
I had 3 plates of savoury food while I was there and a dessert plate (believe me, I left stuffed). My first plate – The starter, I went with an Italian selection. I had a pepperoni pizza slice, a few meatballs, and a little bit of pasta.
For my second plate – Let’s call it my main, I chose a mostly Chinese selection of food. I had some chicken chow mein, a duck pancake, some tofu, as well as a little bit of seasoned broccoli, this incredible marinated pork and a couple of mussels. A very random selection, I know, but it’s a buffet and I love lots of different little bits.
My third plate was basically the same as the second, but smaller, as it was a bit extra of my favourite bits from the buffet.
For my dessert plate (the best bit of any meal), I didn’t go overboard as I was quite full at that point, but I had a little strawberry mousse pot, some Eton Mess and a couple of marshmallows with chocolate from the fountain. The latter 2 I have every time I go to COSMO because they are just so nice!

Overall Thoughts
I very much enjoyed my visit to the Doncaster COSMO. Overall, everything was fantastic, from the drinks to the food and the service too. We both had a lovely meal, and as I mentioned above, it was a nice little moment of recreating our first date.
I will no doubt be back very soon!
