How to apply clusters in a way that still looks natural

To apply clusters in a way that still looks natural, practice often makes perfect. However, knowing tips and tricks for the first time you apply them will likely make them more of a success.

  1. Prepare your lashes

First and foremost, it’s important to prepare your natural lashes. Gently comb through your natural lashes to ensure they’re clean and pointed in the right direction.

  1. Gather your tools

You’ll need clusters, lash glue, and angled tweezers, or an applicator. A mirror and good lighting are helpful too when applying them. You can get some great cluster lashes online at an affordable price.

  1. Apply the bond

Brushing the lash glue onto the base of the cluster, or along the base of your natural lashes, is helpful to prevent irritation. Make sure to let the glue get tacky for about 10-15 seconds before applying.

  1. Place your clusters

Using tweezers, you can gently place the cluster underneath the natural lash line. Get as close to the roots as possible and look down into the mirror to see your natural lash line more clearly.

  1. Adjust as necessary

Adjusting your clusters should be done to help create a more natural finish. Vary the lengths, stagger your placement of the cluster lashes, and leave small gaps to prevent a clumpy or unnatural look to your lashes.

  1. Finish with a sealant if desired

Securing the clusters is easy enough. You’ll press the clusters against your natural lashes with the tweezers to ensure they’re fully secured.

Once you’ve applied all clusters, a sealant can be used to remove any stickiness.

Fixing common mistakes without starting over

It’s good to fix common mistakes without having to start over from the beginning. Here are some final tips that might help:

  • Spot clean excess and use minimal remover for dried glue where lash glue is seen.
  • Gently loosen lashes with a cotton swap into an oil-based cleanser to remove and reapply.
  • Apply a small amount of fresh bond to re-bond and clamp lashes into place.
  • Use a sealer along the base of the lashes to lock them in place.

Using cluster lashes doesn’t need to be a stressful process, so make use of these tips to help you along the way.
